The Key to Recruiting Top Talent Online

Transcript:

Today, I discuss recruiting ads, which you should always have up and running. They won't always produce for you, but I would recommend ZipRecruiter with two or three ads.

Here's are some of the must-do's for effective recruiting ads:
  • Must be benefit rich to attract attention (use direct response, less branded)
    • It's not about RE/MAX or The Lars Group, it's about what you can do for them
  • Must deter "average" agents/applicants from applying
  • Must talk about how much money agents can make on your team
  • Must hit pain points (wasting time, making enough money)
  • Must say that experience is not necessary (provide training)
    • New agents or struggling agents are looking for training, or a path to do things differently and better
  • Must be provocative, take a stand on what you think is wrong with the industry
  • Must be run consistently, at least one ad per week (mix it up)
In your Google Drive, you will find some sample recruiting ads. You can also find examples in Chet Holmes' "Ultimate Sales Machine."

Here are a few examples of some good headlines:
  • BUYERS AGENTS NEEDED FOR 6-FIGURE INCOME
  • READY TO MAKE $100k? BUYER AGENTS NEEDED
  • NOT TAKING ENOUGH $$$ HOME?
  • 3 BUYER AGENT NEEDED - TOO MUCH BUSINESS TO HANDLE
  • ATTENTION REAL ESTATE AGENTS: SIX-FIGURE INCOME
You can tweak the language to match your business so it is truthful and makes sense. The idea is to use language that will attractive highly motivated and skilled agents. Make your ads bold and take a stance on something if you want the right people to apply!
