How Mike Quail Increased Profits with Key Areas of Leverage

"I knew Lars was called a Squirrel Hunter - he likes to shoot down those distractions and just get you to focus on a couple areas. Last year we were around $300,000 GCI, and this past year we were over $500,000 without overspending."

Beverly, MA Reatlor Mike Quail (http://www.thequailgroup.com/) never had trouble bringing in revenue when it came to selling real estate. Where he struggled, though, was in turning that revenue into a profit, and sustaining that success through periods of growth.

What he saw in Lars - and what he hadn't coming across with other real estate coaches - was someone who was successfully teaching agents how to structure and manage a profitable and sustainable real estate team. Mike's focus soon shifted his focus from always testing new ideas to fully implementing tried and true business principles.

"It's this repeating pattern of what we call 'chasing squirrels.' I knew Lars was called a Squirrel Hunter - he likes to shoot down those squirrels and just get you to focus on a couple areas."

For Mike, that meant an increased focus database marketing and team building, two highly leveraged activities so he could one day step out of his business like Lars did.

And as a result, the culture of his team has shifted dramatically, his reporting mechanisms are solidly in place, and his business now excels at the little things - some of the fundamentals no one likes to focus on.

"Last year we were around $300,000 GCI, and this past year we were over $500,000, and we were profitable. The splits were good for me, for the team, and we're not overspending."

As Mike's business reaches its next phase, he's thankful to be able to draw on the wisdom of both Lars and the others in the program going through the same things.

"We're in a good spot right now, but we're in a delicate spot. How do we go from $500,000 to $750,000 to $1 Million to $3 Million? I'm really glad I have not just his knowledge but on the Facebook group we're able to bounce ideas off a lot of people that are at different stages in building their business."

Beyond his new found ability to rid his business of unprofitable distractions, Mike appreciates what Lars offers on a personal level.

"He really cares about you as a person on a very authentic, deep level. That's very different. Other coaching programs have so many people in them, they're not able to give you that personal support. He really cares about your soul and who you are. I didn't expect that."

His goal going forward is to continue following the model that Lars has built - all the way through exiting the day to day of real estate.

"I'd have a self-managed team, doing about $3 million a year, profiting $900,000, with a happy team, happy staff, and people doing really well, myself included. That's what success looks like to me."
